Creating new crochet costumes is my favorite thing about Halloween. Ok, my 2nd, going through my kids’ candy and keeping all the good stuff is my favorite.
I come up with cute costume ideas only to find my kids have something else in mind. I’m pretty sure they’ll be a princess and dinosaur for the next 5 years.
Before Everly could voice her opinion I made her a cute toddler scarecrow hat with a tulle skirt. I’m sharing the free Halloween crochet pattern below.
It’s a running joke that your Halloween costume needs to be able to fit over your snowsuit here in the Midwest. Super bulky weight yarn was a must just in case it was snowing. I used the Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick Yarn in the color Oatmeal. It’s a beige yarn that has flecks of black and brown that give it a rustic look.
