Hi Jan!
Those darn slip stitches like to hide at the end of the rounds :) I'm happy to hear you love the pattern.
Stay Cozy,

I love this pattern! I made one for my daughter and it didn’t turn out so good. When I made mine I actually counted my stitches in mine and it turned out better so I will remake my daughter’s for her. I never had a problem with stitches till now so you really must count the stitches. Thank you.

Hi Tasha,
I'm happy to hear you figured it out! The slip stitch is a short stitch so the chain at the beginning isn't needed. Enjoy your weekend!

Love this pattern and I’m definitely going to make it! I had one question though, are we not chaining up one after the end of each row?, This is in reference to Sue’s question about the height of the scarf.

Thanks so much!!

In reply to <a href="https://sweeteverlyb.com/chunky-crochet-scarf-pattern/#comment-662">Sue</a>.

Hi Sue,
I simply use the mm sizing for my hooks because it is less confusing. I have readers all over the the world. Whenever I list the letter sizing I get a lot of questions. I will keep it in mind for future patterns.

The 25mm crochet hook is a jumbo size hook. The US letter size is a U. This is the one I have.

You are right about the slip stitch being a short stitch. But you will find the stitch loosens up using the giant hook and super bulky yarn. This pattern is far from traditional. I like to bend the" rules" of crochet to create unique looks. I'll admit a whole pattern made of simply slip stitches is strange. But it creates a beautiful texture.

I hope this helps you undestand the pattern!

Something is wrong with this pattern. You say to use a 25 mm crochet hook. According to my sizing chart that would be a size 1 needle. and I wold like to know how are you supposed to use bulky yarn with that size hook. Usually most pattern writers will give the sizing in millimeters and US sizing.

You also just end the pattern by saying repeat rounds 2 to 4 and that is it., not saying that is the end of the pattern. If all that is happening is slip stitching row after row, where is the real height coming from.
