Keep the work facing you, and crochet in the opposite direction from that in which you normally would (i.e. if you normally crochet from right to left, crochet from left to right instead. That is to say, if you are right handed, crochet left-handed, or vice versa.

Your top Vs will point in the other direction, but with this stitch that does not matter. Note this is not “reverse” as in crab stitch.

The center single crochet stitch works the best in the round. I’ve tried it many times in rows and haven’t liked the results. You could cut the yarn at the end of each row and start again on the right side. That sounds like way too many ends to sew in for me 😉 If you find a better way I’d love to hear it!
